Requirements

A student entering preschool must be 3 or 4 years old by August 31. A student entering kindergarten must be five years of age by August 31. Official certificates of birth and baptism are required at the time of registration. Students entering first grade must be six years of age by August 31. Those registering for grades 1-8 must fulfill the age requirement for the desired grade. No student in grades 7 or 8 will be admitted unless their family has recently moved into the area. Grade level and academic group determinations are made on the basis of school records. 

When transferring from another school, an academic transcript, including the latest achievement test scores, the results of any psychological testing, and disciplinary records are required before an application for admission can be processed.

School Immunization Regulations

Documentation of your child’s complete shot record from your health care provider must be submitted to the school nurse prior to the first day of  the school year.

Grades K-8

•Four doses of tetanus (one dose after the 4th birthday); three doses if series started after 7 years of age
•Four doses of diphtheria (one dose after the 4th birthday):  three doses if series started after 7 years of age
•Three doses of polio
•Two doses of measles
•Two doses of mumps
•One dose of rubella
•Three doses of hepatitis B
•Two doses of varicella or written statement from physician/designee indicating month and year of disease or serologic proof of immunity

Grades 7-8

•One dose of tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis (Tdap)
•One dose of meningitis vaccine (MCV4)

Physical and Dental Examinations

Physical examinations are required by a physician for students entering Kindergarten and sixth grade.

Dental examinations are required for students in first, third and seventh grade.
