Middle States Accreditation

The faculty and staff of St. Therese School have been involved in the accreditation process since the first accreditation in l990. We are proud to be an accredited school.

Each renewal of accreditation since 1990 has required a process of self study. Designing Our Future is the most recent venture into renewing accreditation. Beginning in the spring of 2009, the faculty and staff began examining all school operations, services, governance system, curriculum, and student performance. During this self study phase the school discovers if it is true to its mission and beliefs.

The St. Therese self study was completed in May 2010. The school community hosts a visiting evaluation team assigned by the Middle States Association October 10-13, 2010. The visiting team writes a comprehensive report listing the major strengths and opportunities for improvement/recommendations.

Designing Our Future
School Improvement Planning

The faculty and staff developed a strategic action plan on all levels. The design for the future of St. Therese School is focused upon promoting three goals beginning in the 2010-2011 school year.

1. The focus of the first goal is Faith Formation

The St. Therese School faculty will implement a systematic and intentional integration of the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church into the curriculum in order to develop in students a knowledge and understanding of a just and peaceful society.

2. The second goal addresses Improvement in Student Performance

The St. Therese School faculty will implement a systematic progress monitoring approach to improve the effective use and understanding of the writing process by purposefully adapting instruction to student performance.

3. The third goal deals with Effective Communication.

The St. Therese School will improve and strengthen effective communication among all members of the St. Therese School community through an increased use of technology to aid in efficient professional communication.

A mid-point visit three years after reaccreditation provides the school with the opportunity to demonstrate that it is doing what it promised it would do at the time of the visiting team’s review.
